Library Loot (Jan 29)

While I love a good hardcover book, walking around the library with 6 of them (and one paperback) is quite an arm workout. No choice though, looks like most of the books at this library are hardcovers.

The haul:
Oliver Twist - Charles Dickens
Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures - Vincent Lam
The Impostor - Damon Galgut
Beijing Coma - Ma Jian
This Boy's Life - Tobias Wolff
The Suspicions of Mr Whicher - Kate Summerscale
Austerlitz - W.G. Sebald

The Science of Sleep (Michel Gondry)

I love Tobias Wolff. And I've heard good things about Bejing Coma, although I haven't read it yet.

Hope you enjoy your loot!

I understand why library books are hardcover, but I wish they were all trade paperbacks! :) I haven't read any of the books you checked out, but I've been meaning ot read some Tobias Wolff. Beijing Coma sounds interesting toO!

I picked up the Tobias Wolff after reading Sarah Shun-lien Bynum's Ms Hempel Chronicles - Ms Hempel has her seventh-graders read This Boy's Life. And figured I ought to pick it up too.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Happy reading!

I'd like to read This Boy's Life. I've seen the movie and enjoyed it. Then read Old School last year..

Interesting selection of books!
